The ShopMate team have been baking and bringing cakes to raise money for the Breast Cancer Now Afternoon Tea fundraiser. We've had so much support from the team that we haven't yet managed to finish all the cakes so the grand total isn't yet confirmed - which also means you can donate via our Breast Cancer Now Just Giving Page too if you wish!

Our Marketing and Communications Manager, Bryony, who organised this event, said " We really wanted to highlight just how important it is to care for your health and to do regular checks to ensure you spot any signs and get them checked as early as possible, breast cancer can affect men as well as women and it's important that people know this. Of course, we know the team will get behind any fundraiser where cakes are involved too - it's good to have a little light hearted fun as well as highlight and support such a great cause."

We have some excellent bakers within our team and amongst their families, particular favourites appear to be lemon drizzle, pizza bites, millionaire's shortbread, chocolate cake, cinnamon swirls and cherry cupcakes. Just take a look at some of those mouth watering snacks!

Bryony also whipped up a lunch of homemade quiche and a healthy salad to counterbalance some of the cake!

We're already excited for our next baking extravaganza, the Macmillan Coffee Morning in September!
