Who knew there were so many hidden athletes in the ShopMate office?
Our team recently took part in the Grocery Aid Booker Dragon Boat Race, joining colleagues and friends from across the convenience sector for a day of teamwork, fundraising and a little healthy competition.
While we’re usually helping retailers from behind screens and across counters, it was great to get out on the water and support Grocery Aid, a charity that provides invaluable support to people working throughout our industry.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. We may be feeling the effects of all that paddling, but it was well worth it!
Making Waves
The event raised £420,000 for Grocery Aid. The convenience sector is built on hardworking people, and Grocery Aid is there to support them when life becomes challenging. The charity offers free, confidential support to retailers, store colleagues and their families, covering everything from emotional wellbeing and counselling to financial assistance and practical advice. It’s a valuable source of help for thousands of people across our industry, which is why we’re proud to support its work through events like the Dragon Boat Race.
