Hours: 9am to 5pm – Monday to Friday (35 hour contractual working week)
Holiday: 25 working days holiday plus statutory holidays
Probationary Period: 3 months
About the Role
RDP is the UK’s leading provider of specialist EPoS systems to the independent retail sector. RDP have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Technician to join our customer focused team. The main task will be the building of touchscreen EPoS systems ready to be installed by our team of engineers across the UK.
What you'll be doing
System Builds
- Pre-install scanner set-up
- Disk and ‘Hotkey’ set-up
- Till and peripheral building/testing prior to installation
- Liaise with front office for installation dates
- Work closely with the installation engineers and customer support to ensure every installation runs smoothly, on time and with the correct equipment.
Stock
- Shipping of replacement parts as required, on time and to the correct address
- Recording/allocating stock serial numbers
- To keep the stock room/build area clean and tidy
- Report stock shortages to hardware manager
- Stocktaking on a bi-weekly basis.
General Duties
- Cleaning of second hand/returned equipment
- Repair faulty equipment if possible
- Test repaired equipment
- Chase customers for return of loan/faulty equipment
- Postage
You should apply if:
- You have a full clean driving licence
- You have You have previous experience of working as part of a teamwithin the forecourt/fuel supply industry;
- Demonstrable organisational skills, including time management, prioritisation of tasks and self motivation
- Strong work ethic, requires high standards of self-motivation, able to be flexible in order to get the job done, able to work under pressure when deadlines approach
- You are a confident and clear communicator
- You have an excellent professional manner at all times
- You are an open and honest person, comfortable working on your own and as part of a wider team.
