Taking on the Dragon Boat Race for GroceryAid
The ShopMate team will be swapping desks for paddles as we take part in a Dragon Boat Race in support of GroceryAid. This event is all about teamwork: James, Adam, Tim, Brian and Jan will be taking on the dragons this year!!
This challenge depends on everyone pulling together. Every stroke needs to be in sync. Every team member has a role to play.
Behind the laughter (and likely a bit of chaos), there’s a serious reason we’re taking part. GroceryAid provides vital support to people working across the grocery industry-many of whom are facing financial, emotional or personal challenges.
Their support is wide reaching whether you’re on the shop floor, in a warehouse, or working behind the scenes, they providing practical, emotional and financial help when it’s needed most. That can include confidential counselling, financial grants, wellbeing support, and advice through difficult times such as illness, stress, or unexpected life events. It’s a charity built specifically for those in the industry, offering a safety net to retail colleagues who might otherwise struggle in silence, and making sure they have somewhere to turn when things get tough.
It’s a charity that’s close to our hearts and one we’re proud to support again this year (See last year’s event)
