Vape Recycling
Did you know that, if you sell disposable vape products, you need to offer buyers the opportunity to recycle (in your store) any old disposable vape products that they want to get rid of?
This regulation came into effect at the start of 2024. The old regulation, which meant that you only needed to tell consumers where they could recycle their old stock, is no longer in force.
Under the new regulations, retailers are required to offer a recycling facility for vapes on a one-for-one basis. This means that a retailer must accept a used vape for recycling only if the customer is purchasing a new one. To accommodate this requirement, stores may provide a designated bin or container in-store where customers can conveniently return their vapes for recycling.
By ensuring compliance with these regulations, UK retailers can contribute positively to environmental sustainability while meeting the evolving needs of their customers.
